Blog #12: Heading Into 2026 With Gratitude and Grit

As we approach 2026, I’ve found myself slowing down more than I ever anticipated. Not by choice, but because my body demanded it. Being seriously ill forced me to pause in ways that felt uncomfortable at first. When you’re used to pushing forward, resting can feel like falling behind. Yet this season has taught me a vital lesson: healing is an essential part of growth.

Even while sick, the work didn’t stop—it just took on a different form. There were quiet moments behind the scenes, small victories instead of giant leaps, and a lot of reflection. Throughout it all, I kept returning to the core reason YumYumRunner exists. This isn’t about speed. It’s about sustainability. It’s about creating something enduring, not something that burns me out before it has the chance to serve others.

One of the things that sustained me through these weeks was the steady stream of vendor interest forms. Seeing creators continue to apply—still believing, still trusting this vision—meant more than words can express. Especially during a time when I wasn’t at full strength, that support reminded me this platform is bigger than any single moment or setback. It’s real. And people recognize that.

Looking ahead, I’m truly excited about the opportunities coming in 2026. There’s a quiet, steady momentum building—the kind that feels grounded rather than rushed. More conversations. More partnerships. More ways to support the community that has already shown up for me.

I’m also working hard to show up more visibly myself. Social media hasn’t always been easy for me, but I’m learning to shed the fear of being seen. To be more comfortable putting my face to the work. Because people don’t connect with platforms—they connect with people. This journey has reminded me that authenticity matters far more than perfection.

As I step into this next chapter, I carry gratitude first and foremost. Gratitude for my health returning slowly but surely. Gratitude for the vendors who continue to believe in what we’re building. Gratitude for the patience, encouragement, and grace I’ve been shown during this challenging season.

2026 doesn’t feel like a finish line—it feels like a doorway. One I’m walking toward with clarity, humility, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Still building.
Still learning.
Still here.
