YumYumRunner™ offers local delivery across Hampton Roads and optional vendor-managed shipping for customers outside the delivery zone or for those who prefer shipped orders.

This policy explains how both fulfillment methods work and outlines the responsibilities of Vendors, drivers, and customers.

Delivery Service Overview

YumYumRunner™ offers local delivery only for products purchased through our platform.
We do not offer mail or third-party shipping at this time.
Deliveries are completed by approved, vetted drivers who meet our safety and service standards. Each driver goes through identity verification, driving-history review, and policy on-boarding before handling any Vendor orders.
Our goal is to provide fast, reliable, and friendly delivery while supporting the local businesses that make our community thrive.

 

A Note From the Founder

At YumYumRunner™, safety isn’t an afterthought — it’s part of our foundation.
I’ve worked as a delivery driver myself, and I know the risks drivers face every time they walk into an unfamiliar hallway, dark breezeway, or up to the private door of an apartment unit. Those moments can feel uncertain, and sometimes unsafe.

Because of that firsthand experience, I’ve made a clear commitment:

My drivers will never be put in a situation where they feel fearful or vulnerable.

This is why we have firm rules about delivery locations, lighting, accessibility, and apartment drop-offs. These guidelines aren’t about inconvenience — they’re about protecting the people who make this marketplace possible.

Fulfillment Options

Orders on YumYumRunner™ may be completed in two ways:

A. Local Delivery (Handled by YumYumRunner™)

Available within the Hampton Roads, Virginia area.
Customer pays a delivery fee at checkout.

B. Shipping (Handled by the Vendor)

Available for non-local customers or customer-selected shipping. Customer pays full shipping costs directly at checkout.

YumYumRunner™ does NOT handle shipping carriers, tracking, or postal issues.

2. Where We Deliver

We currently deliver throughout the Hampton Roads, Virginia region, including:

  • Chesapeake
  • Norfolk
  • Virginia Beach
  • Portsmouth
  • Suffolk
  • Newport News
  • Hampton

Service areas may expand over time.

3. Delivery Fees

Delivery fees vary based on:

  • Distance
  • Route
  • Time of day
  • Order size
  • Marketplace promotions
Delivery fees are displayed at checkout before payment is submitted.

All delivery fees are non-refundable unless no delivery attempt is made or an error occurs on our end.

4. Delivery Times

Delivery windows are based on:

  • Vendor preparation time
  • Order type (perishable, custom, made-to-order, etc.)
  • Driver availability
  • Traffic and weather conditions

Estimated delivery times will appear at checkout.

Customers will receive updates when:
  • The Vendor accepts the order
  • The driver is assigned
  • The order is picked up
  • Delivery is on the way (when available)

5. Vendor Preparation Responsibilities

Vendors are responsible for:

  • Being ready at the scheduled pickup time
  • Preparing orders within their stated timeframe
  • Safe, secure packaging
  • Temperature control (for food items) prior to pickup

If a Vendor is not ready at pickup time, delivery may be delayed.

6. Driver Responsibilities

Fully Vetted & Approved YumYumRunner™ drivers agree to:

  • Handle all items with care
  • Keep hot and cold foods temperature-stable during transport
  • Follow delivery instructions
  • Maintain professionalism and safety
  • Complete deliveries within the estimated window when possible

Drivers are not permitted to open or tamper with packaged goods.

7. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate address information
  • Be available to receive the delivery
  • Provide clear instructions for gated or restricted areas
  • Retrieve food promptly to maintain quality and safety

If a driver cannot complete delivery due to access issues or no response, the order may be marked as delivered.

8. Failed Delivery Attempts

A delivery may fail when:

  • The customer cannot be reached
  • The address is incorrect
  • The property is inaccessible (gate, building, etc.)
  • Unsafe conditions prevent delivery

In these cases:

  • No refund may be issued
  • A re-delivery fee may apply
  • Perishable items may be discarded for health and safety reasons

9. Order Issues & Delivery Problems

If your order arrives:

  • Incorrect
  • Damaged
  • Missing items
  • Or significantly delayed

Please contact the Vendor first through your YumYumRunner™ account.

If the Vendor is unresponsive after 48 hours, reach out to us at:

We will assist in resolving the issue.

10. Weather & Safety

During severe weather or unsafe conditions, deliveries may be:

  • Delayed
  • Rescheduled
  • Temporarily suspended

Safety is always our priority for customers, drivers, and Vendors.

11. No-Contact Delivery & Delivery Location Rules

Customers may request no-contact delivery at checkout when available.

To ensure the safety of both customers and drivers, the following rules apply to all deliveries:

Customer Safety Requirements

  • A porch light or entryway light must be on for evening or nighttime deliveries
  • Walkways, steps, and drop-off areas must be clear of obstacles, debris, ice, snow, pets, or hazards
  • Customers must provide a safe, accessible, clearly marked drop-off location

Driver Safety Boundaries (IMPORTANT)

For the safety of our drivers and customers:

drivers will NOT:

  • Enter homes, garages, gated yards, or enclosed structures
  • Walk around the side or back of a house
  • Enter fenced areas or areas with loose pets
  • Deliver inside buildings, down hallways, or to individual apartment doors
  • Access unlit or unsafe areas
  • Climb stairs or enter buildings without safe access

All deliveries must be made to a safe, accessible FRONT entry point of a home or building.


Apartment & Multi-Unit Deliveries

For apartment complexes, condos, student housing, or multi-unit dwellings:

Drivers will ONLY deliver to the:

  • Mailroom, or
  • Front desk / leasing office, or
  • Designated package area

Drivers will NOT deliver to individual unit doors for any reason.

This policy ensures driver safety and prevents confusion, mis-delivery, and property access issues.


Completing the Delivery

Drivers will:

  • Leave the order in the designated safe area
  • Take a confirmation photo when required
  • Mark the order as delivered

Once marked delivered, YumYumRunner™ is not responsible for missing items from unattended locations.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Shipping & Delivery Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
